Morigaon College is a prestigious educational institution in Morigaon, Assam.
In its last five decades college has gained over many thousand alumni. To establish a
networking platform to share and influence the stories of alumni and make them connect with
the college family, Morigaon College Alumni association was formed in the college in 2003.
This Association took an important part in the Golden Jubilee celebration of Morigaon
College. The Alumni Association works for the development of the college and raises fund
for the college if necessary. The Alumni Association provides an award of Best Graduate to
the student whoever obtains the highest mark in the degree final examination irrespective of
the stream. Moreover the association donates books, organizes campus cleaning programmes,
various cultural programmes like bihu celebration and alumni meets to connect the alumni
and current students for the development of the college. It is to be noted that the college
establishment day is celebrated on 1 st July from the year 2016 in collaboration with Alumni
association. In present time, the association is preparing plan to construct a heritage home in
the college campus and doing work accordingly.
Several bodies were formed till now for Morigaon College Alumni
Association. During the year 2013-14, Late Pradip Kumar Saikia, former professor of
Morigaon College took the responsibility of president. Later on, Ganesh Chandra Medhi,
former vice-principal of Morigaon College acted as president and Atanu Sarma took the
responsibility as the general secretary of the association. Next body took the responsibility
from 27 February 2021 and the third and current body has been working since 29 December
2022. Morigaon College Alumni Association is registered under Registration of societies Act
XXI of 1860.It has now its own bank account too.
